❗️ Payment for full term classes is nonrefundable. If for some reason you can not attend your regular class, you can join other day/location as substitute for missed class.

Cosmic Dance Class Fees

Fees for all group Grade and Fusion classes are £12 per class (to be paid in advance for the whole semester).

Semi private groups (3 students or less) might have different fee structure.


Workshops and rehearsals might be charged separately (please check with us before enrollment).

  • Bharatanatyam adult beginner - Saturdays 10.30-11.30am. Everyone is welcome to join this class wether you are 18 or 60, wether you had no dance experience previously or had learned Bharatanatyam as a child and want to come back to this practice. We will be doing strengthening exercises, learning basics and putting new steps into choreography. This class is a safe and welcoming space to follow your dance dreams.

  • Conditioning class for adults (Cosmic Dance therapy class) - Saturdays 8.30-9.45am. This class is a gentle flow exercise based on yoga, pilates and variety of South Asian classical dance styles. We flow with the music following simple repetitive routines that will build your balance, strength and stamina. No dance experience required.

​Class description:

Adult ClassesBeginner Level 1
This class is ideal for complete beginners and those who want to refine their foundational skills. Students will learn and practice basic feet, leg, and arm positions, introductory steps (adavus), and fundamental hand gestures (mudras). Simple choreographies will be introduced at this level.

Intermediate Level  
Choreography (Intermediate Levels 1 & 2)
Recommended for students who have completed Beginner Level and have experience with Intermediate Level 1 choreographies (e.g., Alarippu, Pushpanjali), Bhajans, and Kavitvam. This class focuses on classical choreography and expands knowledge of Bharatanatyam technique and theory.

Adavus (Dance Units)
Suitable for students with a solid foundation in Bharatanatyam. This class focuses on enhancing precision, rhythm, strength, and stamina. It's essential for those seeking to improve alignment and technique.

Choreography
Designed for Intermediate Levels students who are proficient in basic adavus. This class explores the Margam structure of Bharatanatyam and includes both classical and fusion choreographies.

Advanced Level Adavus
For students who have completed all previous levels and are ready to tackle advanced combinations. Experienced Intermediate Level 2 students are welcome to join. This class is essential for students preparing for Grades 4 & 5 and those interested in joining the Cosmic Dance Performing Team.

Bharatanatyam Repertoire

For the most advanced students with strong technical skills and theoretical knowledge. Students should be familiar with items such as:

  • Jatiswaram (Arabi/Saveri)
  • Ashtapadi
  • Javali

  • Varnam

Repertoire includes a wide selection of original choreographies by Cosmic Dance.

Fusion Dance
This class emphasizes performance techniques and creative choreography tools. Students explore a variety of musical compositions to remain current and innovative, challenging traditional forms of classical dance. Classes include exercises in choreography, musicality, posture, and stage presence.

Multilevel Classes

Indian Dance Conditioning
A fun and engaging class for students of all levels. Focuses on strength training, technique drills, and targeted movement work to improve overall dance ability. Each session highlights a specific body part, movement, or technique for in-depth exploration.

Cosmic Dance Flow
A unique blend of yoga, Pilates, and Classical Indian dance. Through this graceful flow, students explore the meaning behind mudras while moving through postures inspired by Indian temple sculptures. Set to music, this mindful practice connects body, mind, and spirit. Open to all levels—no prior experience required.

Classes for Kids

All children's classes follow the OFFAAL syllabus, with online exams scheduled according to OFFAAL’s official timetable. Students may participate without taking exams and still follow the structured curriculum.

Beginner Level 1 (Grade 1)
For children aged 5–8 with good coordination and focus. Also open to Beginner Level 2 students for additional practice. Covers basic positions, adavus, thalam (rhythm cycles), single and double hand gestures. Preparation for OFFAAL Grade 1 exams included.

Beginner Level 2 (Grade 2)
For students who have completed Beginner Level 1. Introduces more advanced adavus, thalam work, and challenging movement sequences. Students will also learn shlokas and be introduced to theory and terminology of Indian dance.

Intermediate Level 1 (Grade 3)
For students who have completed Beginner Levels 1 & 2. Focuses on completing the full set of adavus and thalam knowledge. Repertoire includes: Alarippu.

Grade 4

Prepares students for the written theory examination. Repertoire includes:
  • Kautvam
  • Shabdam
  • Jatiswaram
